Elizabeth Sobieski, 92, of Westville, passed away on April 29, 2017 in La Porte. She was born on February 20, 1925, in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. On June 1, 1946, in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, she married Raymond H. Sobieski, who preceded her in death in 1998. Betty worked at T.P. Labs in Westville for many years before she retired. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. She also enjoyed spending her time quilting and crocheting. She is survived by her son William (Theresa Erickson) Sobieski of Milwaukee, WI., and her sister Mary Wojciechowski. She was preceded in death by her sisters Veronica Gabel and Rose Weigel. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Newhard Funeral Home in Westville, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM, with a vigil service at 4:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
