On May 4, 2017, James "Jim" Kenneth Simpson , loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, & great-grandfather went to his eternal home.

Jim was born July16, 1949 to James & Edna Simpson.  He had 2 beloved sisters, Brenda Smith (Don Hufgard), & Connie (Mark) Donovan.

On April 26, 1969 he married his true love, Julie Peterson.  They were blessed with 2 children Derek (Eve) Simpson and Leslie (Troy) Ryan.  They were further blessed with 3 grandchildren, Ashten Simpson (Chad Winger), Austin (Ashley) Simpson, and Garrett Ryan.  God decided to bless them even more with 3 great-grandchildren, Myla, Logan, & Layla.  Jim was also a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim was in the US Army Reserves for 6 years and worked at US Steel for 42 years until his retirement in 2012.  Even after retirement, Jim enjoyed monthly breakfast with his co-workers.

Jim had a love for old cars, especially Mustangs and the Indianapolis Colts.

He also had a great love of music and D-Jay'd with his brother-in-law Ron Peterson for over 20 years as "The Old Styles".

One of his greatest enjoyments later in his life were his grand and great-grandchildren.  He especially loved camping out in the backyard with them and telling campfire stories.

Jim will be missed by his family, his many friends, and so many others.  His sense of humor and joking manner will be carried on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, at Newhard Funeral Home in Westville.  A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Newhard Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Union Mills Cemetery.
