Robert R. Goetz, 87, of Westville, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home.  He was born July 15, 1929 in Worth, Illinois to Oscar and Rose (DiGuido) Goetz.  On November 4, 1952 in San Pierre, he married Marilyn Beahm who survives.  Bob is also survived by his children Robert (Julie) Goetz of Westville, Sandra (Mike) Bell of Westville, James (Cheryl) Goetz of South Bend, Terry (Jackie) Goetz of Michigan City, and Ronald (Donell) Goetz of Niles, Michigan; his sisters Margaret Benes of LaCrosse, Dorothy Davis of Wanatah, Rose Davis of Westville, seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother Oscar “Bud” Goetz. Bob was a U.S Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was also an assistant supervisor for the Indiana Toll Road which he retired from after 32 years of service. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 18th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St. in Westville. Prayer vigil services will be at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Bob to St. Mary Catholic Church for masses or for a charity to be decided upon at a later date. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, love for and devotion to his family and friends, his awesome story telling, big grin and love of life.
