Wayne Schoof Obituary

Wayne V. Schoof, 79 of Union Mills, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his home. He was born September 3, 1944 in LaPorte to Victor and Lois (Peters) Schoof. On September 23, 1983 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Union Mills, he married Peggy Werner who survives. Wayne is also survived by his sons Scott (Sandra) Klemz of Union Mills and Christopher (Wanda) Schoof of LaPorte; four grandchildren Bridgett (Adam) Boily, Spencer Klemz, Sydney (Seth) Klemz, and Sam Klemz; one great granddaughter Brynlee and one great grandson on the way. His sister Sharon (Ralph) Erwin of Union Mills also survives him. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeffery Klemz and his brother Barry Schoof. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Union Mills and on the advisory board for Noble Township as well he started the Farm Model Project for the LaPorte County Fair. He was also a 30 year 4H Beef Committee Member. Wayne also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2nd at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Union Mills. Pastor Bill Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the church and from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church or the Noble Township Volunteer Fire Department.
