Carl Robert DePaul

Carl Robert DePaul, 57, of Michigan City, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018.  He was born July 12, 1961 in Gary to Robert and Marlene (Trethewey) DePaul.  Carl was Lance Corporal with the US Marine Corps., serving for 10 years at Camp Lagune, NC, in Africa and the Aleutian Islands. He was a carpenter with Local 1005 of the Carpenter’s Union, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Michigan City, the Westville American Legion Post #21 and Michigan City American Legion Post #37. On July 17, 2004 he married Linda Eggers Steele who survives. Also surviving him are his parents Robert and Laurie DePaul of Michigan City, his step-daughters Tara (Kyle) Graf of Valparaiso and Samantha Schilla of Chesterton, sister Joy (Carmello) Gomez of Westville, brother Darrin DePaul of Rolling Prairie, step-sisters Jaci Prentiss of Valparaiso, and Jeri Prentiss of Florida, step-brother Mike (Suwanna) Prentiss of Ohio, 5 grandchildren, Austin, Parker, Kohl, Aubrey, Jaxon and dear friend Lola Grott. Friends and family of Carl are invited to a celebration of life luncheon on Monday, December 10th from 1-3 PM at the American Legion Hall Post 21 in Westville. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
