Connie Marie Melnyczenko, 71, of Michigan City, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at home.  She was born January 15, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa to Merle and Coral (See) Atkins.  On December 2, 1988 she married Michael Melnyczenko who survives. Also surviving her are her children Melissa Kendera, Tom Cook, her grandchildren Clay Kendera, Victor Ceja, Vicente Ceja, Sarah Cook, Brandon Cook and her brother Mearle Atkins.  Connie worked in Aramark at the Indiana State Prison.  Prior to that she owned and operated Connie’s Restaurant in Michigan City and was also a beautician.
