Glenn Boo Obituary

Glenn Allen Boo. Born March 28, 1927 in what is now Burns Harbor, Indiana. Died Oct. 17, 2018 in Wilton Manors, Florida. Formerly of Westville, Indiana and Fort Meyers, Florida.

Survived by his wife of 70 years, Louisa, also of Wilton Manors, Florida, sister Josephine Alice Ernest of Noblesville, Indiana and four sons, Thomas (wife Lynn) of Chesterton, Indiana, Dennis (wife Trish) of Granger, Indiana, Jeffery (wife Mary Anne) of North Judson, Indiana and Robert of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his brothers – David Arvid, Hilmer, William Warren, Roger and Irwin, a sister Irma and grand-daughter Brooklyn. He is also survived by grandchildren Lisa, Laurie, Lindsey, Gregory, Natalie and Jason and 14 great-grandchildren.

Glenn graduated from Chesterton High school and then served in the U.S. Army.

Glenn Boo retired after 38 1/2 years as an X-Ray Technician with Beatty Memorial Hospital, which became Westville Correctional Facility. While living in the town of Westville he was in charge of the water department for many years, a volunteer Police Officer when the department was first organized, served on the Town Board and served several terms as Town Board President.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at the Westville United Methodist Church in Westville, Indiana at 11:30 a.m. where Glenn and Louisa were active members for many years before moving to Florida. After celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii Glenn loved to wear the brightest and most colorful Hawaiian shirts. The family encourages everyone attending this celebration to join them in honoring Glenn by wearing a Hawaiian shirt if you so desire. A light luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Internment of the ashes in Westville Cemetery with follow with family only. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in his honor.
