James F. “Jim” Fear, 84 of Valparaiso, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Valparaiso.  He was born November 20, 1932 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Fredrick and Hazel (Hemminger) Fear.  Jim is survived by his sister Juanita Beaty of LaPorte, his niece Deborah (Ronald) Herrold of Westville, nephew Stanley Beaty of Cleveland, Ohio, and many great nieces and nephews.  His father Fredrick Fear, his mother Hazel Scofield, and brother-in-law Thomas Beaty preceded him in death. Jim was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Wanatah, and many years ago worked as a station attendant at the Oasis and L&G Truckstops in Westville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12th at the Crossroads Baptist Church, 10027 W. 1000 S., Wanatah.  Pastor Rick Moore will officiate.  Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, at the church, from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church.  The Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements. www.newhardfuneralhome.com
