James E. Nichols

James E. Nichols 80, of Westville, passed away, Thursday, January 31, 2019. He was born March 13, 1938 in Coal Glen, PA, the son of late William E. and Denice Nichols. He was the last of 10 sisters and brothers from Pennsylvania. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, Company B 2nd Battalion Airborne, 506th Third Infantry. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for 42 years before retiring, then worked for Briar Leaf Golf retiring after 8 years. Jim was a member of the Forrester’s Golf League, Westville Lions Club, Alleguis Time to Travel Club, Crestmore Golf League and was Vice President of the United Steelworkers Soar, District 7 Active Retirees. In July of 1977 he married Nancy Helsing who survives in Westville. Also surviving are his daughter Sandra D. “Sis” Coulter, grandsons, Ozzie, Quinten and Cooper Coulter and great grandson Oliver Coulter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 5th at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St. in Westville. Pastor Cathy Allison will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Monday and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial Donations may be made to Westville United Methodist Church.
