John Lemmon, 60, of Westville, passed away on January 5, 2018, in Crown Point.  He was born on December 4, 1957, in Gary, IN. to Forest and Lydia (Williams) Lemmon.  John worked for most of his life as a steel worker at Republic Steel.  He also enjoyed spending his time wood-working and doing farm work, and helping anyone in need.  He was a member of the Christadelphian Church in LaPorte.

John is survived by his children John (Jenny) Lemmon of Westville, Chantal (Josh) Slatton of Westville, Julie (Jeff) Peeler of Ontario, Canada, Talia Cook and her fiancé Tony of New Carlisle, Stephen Lemmon of Westville, and Tommy Lemmon of Westville; siblings Thomas Lemmon of Westville, Mary Kestle of Valparaiso, Ruth Nehemiah of LaPorte, Jim Lemmon of Westville and Betty (Jim) Vogel of Texas.  He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and his beloved dog Duke.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, at Newhard Funeral Home in Westville.  A funeral service will be held the following day on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family.    To sign an online guestbook, www.newhardfuneralhome.com
