Sharon C. Rand, 85, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday August 14, 2017.  She was born July 31, 1932 in Chicago, to Earling and Marion Larsen.  On June 22, 1974 she married Gene Rand who survives.  Also surviving are 3 children Debbie (Dale) Elliott of Westville, Robert (Diane) Anderson of Idaho, Jennifer (Matt) Rand of Valparaiso, 14 grandchildren, 3 sisters Arlene, Sandra, and Cory.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Connie Ball.  Sharon enjoyed painting, bowling, crocheting.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday August 17, 2017 at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 West Walnut Street in Westville.  A memorial gathering will take place on Thursday at 2:00 PM until the time of service.
