Andrew Nicholas Mixis, 63 of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023. He was born November 24, 1959 in Gary, Indiana the son of Spiro and Katherine (Patellis) Mixis. Andrew was a construction worker and a motorcycle enthusiast. Surviving are his brothers, John Mixis of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, Steven Mixis of Union Mills, Indiana and Arthur (Debra) Mixis of Kalamazoo, Michigan and his sister Evangeline Schmeltz of Haines City, Florida. Andrew enjoyed his time with nieces and nephews, Melissa Schmeltz Phelps, Richard Schmeltz, Christopher Mixis, Andrea Mixis McGinnis, Patrick Mixis and Emily Mixis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Mixis. A visitation and time of sharing will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, 1 to 3 PM at Newhard Funeral Home. Procession to Union Mills Cemetery will follow the visitation. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Union Mills/ Mill Pond Conservation Club.
