Arlene Mae (Carpenter) Bos

Arlene Mae Bos, 87 of Wanatah, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021. She was born December 28, 1933 in East Chicago, Indiana to Leslie and Margaret (Stafford) Carpenter, Sr. On November 5, 1955 in Valparaiso, she married Kenneth Bos who passed away February 16, 2010.  Arlene is survived by her children Steve (Amber) Bos and Cindy (Rob) Cole; grandchildren Glen Cole, Jackson and Brooke Bos; one great grandchild Noah Cole; her brothers Chester (Ethel) Carpenter, Leslie (Darlene) Carpenter, Jr., and her sister Sandy (Butch) Fitzer.  Also surviving her are her nephew Andrew (Brandy) Ward; nieces Cindy Carpenter and Sandy Mudlow and her roommate Peggy Roberts. In addition to her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Roger Ward, Dennis Carpenter, Sharon Anderson, Sandy Michaels, and Donald Carpenter. Arlene’s greatest joy was her grandkids. She loved watching them play sports and work with their cattle. Arlene was a very social person. She enjoyed BINGO and walking in the outdoors. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 5th at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St. in Westville, Pastor Jeff Coester will officiate. Burial will be in Westville Cemetery. Visitation for Arlene will be on Thursday, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
