Betty June (Coyer) Sobkowiak

Betty June Sobkowiak, 90 of Westville, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home.  She was born April 29, 1932 in Knox, Indiana to Daniel E. and Stella M. (Kinney) Coyer. On February 23, 1952, she married Louis G. Sobkowiak who passed away July 9, 1986. Betty is survived by her children James M. Sobkowiak of Knox, Ronald L. (Diana) Sobkowiak of Valparaiso, and Nancy Sobkowiak Boo of Hunt Valley, Maryland; her grandchildren Nicole C. (John) Pierzakowski, Danielle M. (Tommy) Starnes, John R. Boo, Jr., and Nicholas J. Boo; and her great grandchildren Natalie, Wesley, Jordan, Hailey, and David. Two brothers and three sisters also survive her. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and her parents. Betty was a seamstress for the Westville Correctional Center for 23 years before retiring. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20th at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St in Westville, Rev. John Zemelko will officiate. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
