David M. Scarborough

David M. Scarborough, Sr. 78 of Union Mills, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019.  He was born March 15, 1940 in Hanna, Indiana to John and Harriet (Ames) Scarborough.  On June 14, 1958 he married Loretta Lauderback who survives. Also surviving him are his children David Scarborough, Jr., Lorri (Glen) Johnson, Joan (Tracy) Kirby, Judy (Don) Ellis, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, John, Phyllis, Harriet, Donna, Roy, Dick, Sally, Jenny, Debbie, and Edie.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Sheryl Hyde, his parents, his brothers Ray and Howard and his sister Mary. David is a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Wanatah. He was past president for the LaPorte County Farm Bureau and was the Noble Township Trustee for several years. Before retiring, David worked for LaPorte Transit Trucking for 30 years. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 19th at the Cross Roads Baptist Church, 10027 W. 1000 S. in Wanatah. Pastor Rick Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery.  Visitation will on Monday, at the church from 4-7 PM. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
