Helen M. (Grise) Carson

Helen Maxine Carson, 97, passed away in Newburgh, Indiana July 7, 2020.  She was born in St. Joseph County Indiana on February 4, 1923, to Clyde Earl Grise and Sophia Louise Grise.  On December 27, 1940, she married her husband, Andrew K. Carson who passed in August, 1997. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Harold and Warren Grise.  She is survived by her four sons, Phillip, Carl (Lynda), Paul (Sunny) and David (Joy) Carson, and one adopted son, Daniel Hentscher (Julie). She leaves grandchildren: Jason, Jamie K. Carson-Payne, and Isaac Carson. and great grandchildren: Johnathon and Carson Kempf, Noah and Xoee Payne, Kastle, Krash and Knoxlee Carson. 

Helen never met a stranger!  All that knew her could always say her first care was for them. She spent many hours visiting those less fortunate and the elderly and cooking for people she hardly knew. Friends and neighbor's who would stop by her house rarely left without a meal. She truly tried to help those in need during her lifetime. 

She enjoyed serving the Westville Community as a member of the Westville Lion's Club along with other historical associations. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and also studied the Bible with The Shepherd’s Chapel.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM, Saturday, July 11th at Westville Cemetery, with visitation at the Newhard Funeral Home 58 W.
