Obituary
Janice Dolores Merifield of Michigan City, formerly of Westville, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at home. She was born April 22, 1933 in Springfield, Illinois to Homer and Irene (Shelly) Boysel. After 68 years of marriage, Janice was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Merifield on October 31, 2019. Surviving her are her children Jamie Lynn (Bill) Steffen of Michigan City and James Jeffrey (Olivia) Merifield of Westville; grandchildren Chelsea (Ryan) Maerz, Christian Graf and Jordan Graf; and great grandchildren Carlie and Maddox Maerz. Janice was retired from U.S. Steel where she worked as a secretary in the payroll dept. She was also a medical transcriptionist and former bank teller. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Newhard Funeral Home.
