Joy Lynn Lake

Joy Lynn Lake, of Westville, passed away on August 18, 2023, in her home surrounded by family.  She was born on May 12, 1947, in LaPorte, Indiana. Joy worked as a human resources specialist for Freeman Products in Knox before retiring in 2018. She had a wide range of interests including music, reading, card making, ceramics, and gardening.  Her favorite hobby though was scrapbooking.  Joy had a special group of friends that she would scrapbook with that meant the world to her.  She is survived by two children, Lisa (Dennis) Walters of Westville and Dale Lake of LaPorte.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael and Alex Thiede, Preston and Austin Lake, Jordan Porter, and great granddaughter Lillian Boyd.  Joy’s special dog Phoebe also survives her.  Above all things, she loved her children and grandchildren.  A visitation for Joy will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Newhard Funeral Home, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held the following day on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with Jan Buchanan officiating.
