Louis Dees Sewell 88, of Westville, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023. He was born July 31, 1935, in Calvert City, Kentucky to Charlie Edgar and Estelle (Dees) Sewell. He married Lillie Mae Williams, on June 09, 1956, in Charleston, South Carolina, who survives. Louis is also survived by his children Louis (Janyce) Sewell Jr. of Westville, Cindy (Michael) Sparacio of Westville, Terry Sewell of Clewistown, Florida and Tim Sewell of Westville; his grandchildren Travis Sewell, Shane Sewell, Chase (Maggie) Sparacio and Carly Sparacio; and one great grandchild Lillian Sparacio. His sister Betty (Johnny) Rayburn of Aurora, Kentucky also survives him. He was preceded in death by his brothers Wayne (Beverly) Sewell of Gilbertsville, Kentucky and Gene Sewell. Louis was an ironworker out of Local 395 and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an avid golfer achieving a minimum of four or more holes in one. He was a mason belonging to the Chesterton and Westville Chapter. Louis loved motocross and was awarded a basketball scholarship to play for the Kentucky Wildcats. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
