Mallisa Claudine “Dean” Tarpley 84 of Wanatah, Indiana passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at home. She was born March 28, 1937 in Caraway, Arkansas to Oscar and Ruby (Malone) Beaty. On July 28, 1951 in Knox, she married Donald Theodore Tarpley who passed away in 1988. Mallisa is survived by her children Sandra (Michael) Mooney of Custer, South Dakota, Donald R. (Mary) Tarpley of Hardy, Arkansas, Malisa Curry of Custer, South Dakota, Charles David (Sherri) Tarpley of King, North Carolina, her brother Charles (Nancy) Beaty of Cave City, Arkansas, her sisters Jo Ann (Allen) Metts and Glenda (Robert) Weinkauff both of Wanatah; 42 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In a addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Karen Jean (David) Burleson of Hardy, Arkansas; her son Gilbert Andrew (Dana) Tarpley of Williford, Arkansas; her brothers Thomas (Juanita) Beaty of Westville and Donald (Evelyn) Beaty of Hardy, Arkansas; and her sisters Wanda Marsh of Hamlet, Indiana and Alice (Dan) Woodruff of Westville.b Mallisa was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed being a homemaker and nurse and Canterbury Nursing Home in Valparaiso. She will be laid to rest at the Tarpley Family Cemetery in Hardy, Arkansas. A Celebration of Life for Mallisa will take place on Saturday, September 4th at the Fish Fry on 7554 W.1350 South in Wanatah. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
