Obituary
Manuel Ponda Jr., 70 of Merrillville, passed away Tuesday, June14, 2022. He was born June 8, 1952 in Gary, the son of Manuel and Lottie (Szostek) Ponda. Manuel was a disabled Veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 279 in Miller. Manuel loved his scratch off tickets, he was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
Survived by his siblings, Betty Cleek, Rosie Bozan, Charlotte (Rick) Buckingham, Debbie (Ben) Hymes, Richard (Linda) Ponda, David (Kathy) Ponda and many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Leona Ponda, Catherine Hennings, Angelo Ponda, Dominick Ponda, Michael Ponda, Angie Laing, Robert Ponda, Sr., Anna Caldwell
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 1PM at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St, Westville, IN. www.newhardcom. A luncheon will be Hosted after the memorial Service by David and Kathy Ponda in Westville, IN.
