Norman Louis Chouinard, 79 of Westville, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at home. He was born September 24, 1941 in Kankakee Township, Illinois to Gerome and Violet (Unger) Chouinard. On October 27, 1991 he married Lila (Whitney) Cole who survives. Also surviving are his children Cherie Johnson of Texas and Dave Chouinard of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his stepsons Joseph (Anita) Bromley of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and David (Renee) Bromley of Westville; three grandchildren Amanda, Connie, and Julian; step grandchildren Brittnee, Paige, Logan, Dave and Bryce; and one step great grandson Memphis. His brother Merl Chouinard of Manteno, Illinois and two sisters Carol Goodrich of Kankakee, Illinois and Connie Duff of Texas also survive him. Noman was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Marvin. He was a U.S. Airforce veteran and a member of American Legion Post #21 in Westville and the V.F.W. Before retiring, Norman was employed for many years as a Union Carpenter with Carpenter’s Local #496. Graveside services with military honors will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
