Gladys Mildred Westlund died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Willows Nursing Home in Valparaiso. She was 89.  She was born August 23, 1927 in Daggett, Michigan to the late Henry and Ruth Wayberg. On March 12,1948 she married Ahart H. Westlund in Union City, Tennessee, who preceded her in death. Ms. Westlund was a retired secretary with the Department of Children and Family Services in Valparaiso. She is survived by her daughter Linda Jean Meadows of Westville, sons Gene Hart Westlund and wife Beverly of Medaryville, Dewayne Willard Westlund and wife Rita of Westville, David Henry Westlund and wife Melissa of Michigan City; her brother Darwin Wayberg of Medaryville, sisters Audrey Wright of Monticello, Henrietta Bailey of Medaryville, Karen Gutterman of Michigan City, and Kristine Wayberg of Texas; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.  Her parents and three sisters preceded her in death. Burial will be in White Post Cemetery in Medaryville, Indiana.  Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
