Shirley J. Bacon, 84 of Westville, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 in Michigan City . She was born May 31, 1932 in the Pines, Indiana to James and Nina (Stalbaum) Allison. On October 28, 1950 in Westville, she married Jack A. Bacon who survives. Shirley is also survived by her children: Kim Haddad, Kurt Bacon, Robert "R.J." (Linda) Bacon, Kitte Schwimmer, Kent (Janice) Bacon, Katie Bacon; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her brother John Allison and sister Carol Agemy also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents James Allison and Nina Theriault, her brothers, James and Don Allison, and her sister, Wilma Bennett. Shirley worked for many years as a cashier at the Oasis Restaurant in Westville and was a dedicated wife , mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Westville United Methodist Church where she was a choir director. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 10th at the Westville United Methodist Church, Pastor Cathy Clayton and Rev. William C. Babb III officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W Walnut St. in Westville and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Memorial contributions can be made to the Westville United Methodist Church for a new sound system.
